Transport Specialist - Nolan European Logistics BV

To expand the operational team of Nolan European Logistics in Roermond and Rotterdam, we are looking for an enthusiastic, all-round transport and freight forwarding specialist to join the Benelux team.

What does your working day look like at Nolan:

• We first start the working day with a cup of coffee, tea or a non-alcoholic beverage to discuss current affairs and points of interest for the day.
• Then you start checking the jobs planned for that day and inform our customers about the status of their loads or any other details.
• You will also check whether the shipments that need to be unloaded that day are also running according to schedule.
• Then it’s time to plan the shipments that are still pending, so you contact your partners and the negotiating and planning begins. You are also constantly looking for new relationships to bring to our business.
• Of course, you maintain comprehensive administration and support other internal departments with this information.

Which competencies you certainly cannot live without, in no particular order:

• Good knowledge and experience of the international transport world
• Perseverance and drive to achieve results
• Strong communication skills, written and oral (multilingual required, NL-ENG-DE and all additional languages give you an advantage)
• The courage to negotiate and make decisions independently
• Flexible and willing to work overtime occasionally (if the situation requires it)
• You are familiar with laws and regulations surrounding customs formalities and know how to apply and comply with them in practice
• And at least as important as all of the above, good teamwork skills.

We offer you all the space you need to do your work the way you think it should be done. We always encourage improvement proposals and (almost) everything is open for discussion. You will also receive a company laptop and telephone for business purposes. A professionally furnished workplace in a cozy and small-scale office with the option to work from home if necessary. But the basic principle is to work from the office as much as possible.

This is a full-time role working 36-40 hours Monday to Friday.
