Mitsui Prime Advanced Composites Europe B.V., or “ACE” as our colleagues call it, is founded in 2018. At the beginning of 2020 our brand new plant was opened, which has his focus on producing PP-compound for the automotive industry. Our name is a combination of the different organizations that are our shareholders. We have ‘Mitsui’, which reflects Mitsui Chemicals Inc. and also Mitsui & Co, the trading company that is located in Japan. ‘Prime’ is the abbreviation for Prime Polymer, the third shareholder of ACE. All three companies have their headquarters in Japan.
ACE is part of the large Mitsui Chemicals Group (Mitsui Chemicals Inc.) and acts as the parent company and one of the shareholders. With factories all over the world, they focus on 5 business domains: Mobility, Health Care, Food & Packaging, Next Generation and Basic Materials. The Mitsui Chemicals Group will continue to contribute to society through its innovative, performance-driven products and technologies and help make the world a better place for all as a leading solution provider. ACE is part of the Mobility division and we are the first European plant under the flag of the Mitsui Chemicals Group to produce PP compound.
To realize the ambitions of ACE we are looking for a:

MANAGER PRODUCTION

Safety, Leadership, Continuous improvement, Quality

THE POSITION
Main goal for our Production Manager is taking responsibility for the activities of the Production department, ensuring efficient, safe, and reliable production processes. This role involves managing the maintenance department, process engineering, production teams and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and safety.

TEAM
The team consists out of Maintenance, Process Engineering and Production. You are hierarchically ranked under the General Manager Production and you give direction to 28 employees, of which 8 directly.

SUMMARIZED JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Manage day-to-day production operations, ensuring timely, efficient, and high-quality output.
  • Discuss and implement production schedules with the SCM team to align with customer demands and resources.
  • Monitor and adjust production processes to meet quality standards and operational goals.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage the production team, including shift leaders, operators, maintenance, and process engineering.
  • Implement personnel policies and ensure team members receive necessary training and development opportunities.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance team performance.
  • Oversee maintenance, repairs, and overhauls to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations.
  • Make proposals for investments in production equipment, prepare technical specifications, and manage procurement.
  • Ensure all products meet or exceed quality standards and customer specifications through process inspections.
  • Promote and enforce safety protocols, conducting regular safety audits and addressing hazards promptly.
YOUR PROFILE
The most important is to have the right personality! Which means you are a hands-on, no-nonsense coach that easily connects with all levels and colleagues in the organization. You’re a dynamic and experienced leader with a strong background in production management, preferably within the plastics or chemical manufacturing industry. You will possess a strategic mindset and the ability to optimize production processes while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You are a proactive problem-solver, capable of driving continuous improvement initiatives and managing complex production environments.
You have a relevant bachelor degree and minimal 5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in a mid-size B2B company (100+ employees; industrial environment). You master Dutch and English fluently.
